Dogs in Transit During the summer “tourist” months we are able to send dogs by plane twice every week, providing our contacts have places for them and we have found tourists willing to accompany the dogs. But after the charter flights stop in October we must find another way. This is why we bought our “Treasure”, an eleven year old Mercedes transporter van. We can carry about 20 dogs in their travel kennels. It is a long grueling trip, but it is more than worth the expense and effort when we finally arrive at Uta Engelhardt's house near Dusseldorf and the foster families are all there, waiting to take the poor tired doggies home. If anyone flying back to Germany would consider becoming Flugpaten, flight partners who accompany dogs on charter flights from Corfu to Germany, please contact Uta Engelhardt at (0049) 174 946 3740 or send an SMS. You will not be required to pay for the air transfer, all you must do is check in with the dogs at the airport and claim them at the destination. We will bring the dogs to the airport and help you check in and Uta or a colleague will be waiting at the airport at the other end.
